Carmen F. “Poncho” Cameron, 65, a lifelong resident, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 of cancer surrounded by his family. He was employed for over 15 years by Kempsville Builders formerly Carolina Builders. He was an avid coin collector and was always willing to give a helping hand and the shirt off his back if needed.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa A. Cameron of Lyons, GA; five brothers and sisters, Harry Cameron (Kathy) of Huntsville, AL, Mary Sharmon, Teresa Carr (Harry), Linda Cameron and Carl McIntosh all of Newport News; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 29, 2012 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
