Charlotte Fisher Merica, 82, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012. She was a native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia (Mappsville) and was the daughter of Aubrey Fisher and Vesta Lewis and the widow of Frank E. Merica.
She worked for many years at Electronic Service in Hampton and Tidewater Electronics in Newport News. After retiring, she found pleasure in traveling, gardening, antiques hunting, shopping in Wiliamsburg, and being in the company of family and friends. She was known for her generous nature and excellent cooking. Her home was the gathering place on holidays for great food and even greater memories. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and enjoyed making crafts for their various charitable causes.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Merica of Newport News; her nieces, Janet Grine of Catonsville, MD, Debby Goodman of Lebanon, TN; and nephews, Ronald Fisher of Martinez, GA, Gene Merica of Suffolk, and William Morse of Newport News. She also leaves behind her dog Clint and three “grand dogs”, Zach, Maggy, and Lexy, all of whom she loved very much.
A memorial service will be held at Providence United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 28, at 2 PM.
