GEORGE S. MATSON

George S. Matson passed away Monday, March 19th, 2012. He was born in Jackson, Michigan to the late George Matson and Helen Matson. His wife Evelyn Matson preceded him in death. As a Navy Quartermaster, George served his country during World War II and, as a naval architect, he was a vital part of the Hampton Roads shipbuilding industry until 1975.

We will all miss his loving presence, ready humor and versatile artistry.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, March 26th at the Chesapeake, 955 Harpersville Road, Newport News.
